| Current projectCINKASSEY↔KANDI, a human development project Presentation Cinkassey and Kandi are two cities in Togo and Benin (West Africa), respectively. These two cities are at the heart of a beautiful region (see map) where Baobab Humanity Initiative (BHI) is engaged with its people, supporting them in their exciting struggle for a better life. BHI is interested in the following projects: * Digging wells to provide safe water for all inhabitants of the region * Supplying electrical power to homes * Planting trees to fight desertification: moringa trees (also fights malnutrition), cashew trees (provides cash crop) * Building schools accessible by all children * Literacy campaign: teaching people to read in their native languages * Funding of women-run cooperatives and businesses, such as community gardens * Children's and women's health: providing health education, counseling, medicine, clinics What we're doing * Organizing information campaigns targeting schools, organizations and individuals through discussion, panels, lectures, music & art exhibitions and other gatherings to raise awareness, raise funds, and obtain resources * Recruiting volunteers to support efforts both in the field (in Africa) and in administration (in the U.S.) The partners * Fr.
